Alongside directing two short films my senior year, I started developing concept art for a stop-motion 
"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" adaptation, simply for the fun of it! 

 

I have always loved this story, and when I started thinking of it as an animated film, I immediately knew it had to be be stop-motion. When I was little, I would spend hours planning and setting up elaborate worlds for my toys to live in. Stop-motion animation has always charmed me because it feels like bringing those worlds of childhood to life. I think this medium wonderfully compliments this story, in which children explore the surreal world of the chocolate factory and the adults grasp on to the bits of childlike wonder that they have left.
